VoIP vs. Traditional Landline — Which is the Better Option for Your Home Phone?

There are a few key considerations for comparing VoIP to traditional landlines. These include cost, reliability, call quality, and features.

VoIP uses a digital signal instead of copper wires, which makes it more reliable than traditional landlines. However, VoIP does depend on a strong internet connection for operation.

Cost

Generally, VoIP costs are 40-80% less than traditional landlines. This is because you are paying for a monthly service, and there are usually lower call charges. Plus, there are fewer upfront costs for equipment and installation.

VoIP is an excellent choice for a business with multiple locations because it can also seamlessly connect to your mobile devices. That way, your customers’ information will stay synced no matter where you work.

With a traditional landline, calls may drop or be routed to voicemail if the network is down. This differs from a modern VoIP phone system because a robust internet connection can back it up. In addition, if the office internet is down or offline, a business can still use their phones with a VoIP provider that offers automatic call routing to mobile devices.

Reliability

Landlines are based on copper wires that run from a local or national telecommunications company to the premises. These are known for their reliability and stability. They also come with various features, such as call waiting, which allows you to put one call on hold while answering another.

I Want to be my Own Boss

According to a recent Gallup Poll,
over 6 in 10 Americans want to quit being an employee to become an entrepreneur running their own business. The survey reveals that the traditional 9 to 5 office job doesn't reflect the current needs and mindset of the population. Indeed, becoming their own boss allows Americans to escape a variety of challenges that are typical of the employee's world:

  • They can make the most of their skill set

  • They don't need to worry about inflexible schedules anymore

  • They are not exposed to sudden dismissal risks

  • They can create a workplace they love to work in

  • They can pick a valuable location for commuting

  • They can build a team based on trust and shared values

  • They are free from poor management practices

  • They have the potential to earn more than their office wages

However, wanting to become your own boss and actually running a successful business are two different things. How can you make it work?

Equip them with the best resources and materials

As a parent, you can be in control of the resources and materials that your children are using to enhance their education and understanding of subjects.

For instance, you can request for their teachers to provide them with the right resources and materials in their lessons. Or, if you like to homeschool your child, perhaps due to some of the reasons why is there a teacher shortage, then it can be beneficial for you to use Learn Bright tools where you can gain access to free lesson plans.

4 Ways to Nurture Your Child’s Creativity

Every human is creative. It’s just that some people haven’t actively invested in their creativity. As the old metaphor goes, creativity is a well that you need to top up from time to time. You can do this as an adult, but it’s much easier if you learn the practice when you’re a child. That simply gives you more time to find the creative medium that suits you best — and then become a master of it. If you have a child, then it’s best not to force your child into creativity. Instead, you can gently nudge them in that direction. We’ll look at some top tips for doing just that in this post.

Go Exploring

The more information that’s received, the more likely it is that the brain will use that information and transform it into something creative. You could have creative thoughts if you were sitting in a basic, windowless room, but it’d be much more difficult — especially if you had an untrained brain. Let your child’s imagination run wild by going exploring in the great outdoors. Those spaces always offer something that urban areas can’t. Plus, a day of hiking in nature is just a great day out for the whole family. It’s a win-win activity.

2023 Chick-fil-A Cow Appreciation Day Dress Like a Cow Day Free Food!

2023 update: Not only is it Cow Appreciation Day on July 11, 2023, but it's also 7-11's Free Slurpee Day!
This is a post I wrote in 2012 about doing our family's first Chick-fil-A Cow Appreciation Day, and here are some photos, both vintage and from last year!

Tuesday, July 11, 2017 is the day/night to go THIS YEAR ...
This year I took 8 kids plus my husband and myself and we spent $8.47 on fries only :-)

Please check out the details here first ... they stop serving this free deal at 7 p.m. and you don't get an entire free meal anymore ...

Bottom line is YOU GOTTA DO THIS! When we do this with our entire family it amounts to $60 in free food for dinner alone. I thought that was awesome. However, my friend Liz can always do me one better! She says you can go for ALL THREE MEALS OF THE DAY!

Are you going? So easy to toss together an outfit that resembles a cow (just think black and white, brown and white, spots, ears, tail, nose -- they aren't too picky as long as you give it a shot). Now for the vintage 2012 photos I promised you!
