Video Games

Hear me out.

I hate video games and I figured out why. It's because my first husband played them constantly. He once wore out a Nintendo player, bought a new one, then put the old one in the box and RETURNED IT and they actually gave him his money back. He was a real jerk, a great scam artist.

So we don't have the games here. I'm lucky to have a TV with the way my husband is. We don't want our kids going stupid or getting thumb arthritis.

But I have to tell you I have Chuzzle and Diner Dash on my computer and I LOVE THEM. They are my stress relief: matching colored puff balls and playing a waitress. The kids play Chuzzle sometimes, but usually I am mean and make them play with each other or read or something instead.

Got a favorite video game?

  1. Haley loves to bowl on our Wii Sports and loves to run on Wii Fitness so she can see all her Mii friends we have set up. I can't complain she is up and moving around

  2. I'm a sucker for video games. I don't play them often, but when I do I can't stop. Which, incidently, is why I don't play them often. Lol.

    I'd have to say that my favorite games are...
    * For Wii--Wii Fit
    * For GameBoy -- Pokemon Crystal/Pokemon Ruby
    * For DS -- The Sims 2
    * For PS2 -- Kingdom Hearts
    * For N64 -- Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
    * For computer -- Diablo 2/Diner Dash/Stronghold 2

    Yes...I think I have a problem. Too many gaming systems in our house...but at least I don't spend my entire life playing them, right? :)

  3. We're addicted to Rock Band. Plop the kid in the swing and turn it on. He loves the music!

  4. Diablo, Diablo II, Heroes of Might and Magic, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Jade Empire, Fable, and most anything from Big Fish Games (http://www.bigfishgames.com).

    You should try Avenue Flo, I like it a lot better.

  5. I like the old school arcade games, Pac Man, Asteroids, Centipede, etc. I have an Super NES Nintendo system in the basement, not sure if it's still complete. I played it quite a bit, Super Mario World and whatnot until my first daughter was born (in fact, I was playing Nintendo for much of that protracted labor) and somehow haven't had time in the fourteen years since.

  6. I used to play online cards before I had 3 little boys! Maybe I'll get back into it when they are a little older. My hubby plays Madden in the evenings which is fine with me because he is in his man-cave and I can watch my "shows" upstairs!
