Cinnamon Roll Peach Cobber

I recently made this for my dad and stepmom when they came over because I had a ton of peaches and my stepmom posted the recipe. I don't think she really thought I was going to make it but I sure did. It was hard not to sit and eat the entire thing myself! Check it out! Recipe is here! (eek! It has come to my attention that I am sending you to a different recipe, but just go with it, okay? ... I can't find the one I made anywhere ... online or on paper ... so I'll have to keep checking! Thanks for putting up with my scattered nature!)

Oops, no picture of the finished product. I'm a little half-assed. Great at starting things but not so great at finishing them. Just ask Mr. Kerrie about how I make chocolate chip cookies. I make the dough, eat some dough, bake some cookies then walk away. Thank God we are married or he would probably break up with my ADHD butt!

Belton Missouri Swimming Pool ... Thanks, Tutu!

My mom (Tutu) gave us a late Easter gift in the form of cash to go somewhere the kids really wanted to go: Belton Pool. Mr. Kerrie took a half day off and we headed to Belton for some fun. Here are pictures!

Pretty sure he's thinking about me

When Kids Do Mommy's Makeup

NEW NEIGHBORS!!!!!!

I am so excited as I type this. And I am aware that I gave the new neighbors a card with my phone number and blog address on it so they might see this. BUT I AM SO EXCITED!

Sunday we came home from church to see a Suburban in the driveway of the house next door. We have lived here for 14 years. An elderly couple lived next door. Then a single woman. Then a single man. This is a big house, people! So for years I have been praying for a family to move in.

YES YES YES!

God said, "Kerrie, you have been a decent person these last few years so I am going to give you something super cool that you have been begging me for." (is it bad to pretend like God said something? sorry; He knows me intentions are good)

ANYWAY, I saw a bunch of kids. Got my hopes up.

Monday they were back. I didn't want to bug them. Tuesday some of the kids came to the door to say hi. I grilled them. I found out they are (1) Catholic like us and (2) HOMESCHOOL. WHAT ARE THE ODDS? Then I met the parents and they are super sweet. Like, as in, they will be a good influence in my life and we can help each other out and we and the kids will have fun.

I am super hopeful and excited about this. Last night we went over and roasted marshmallows in their fire pit. They have 6 kids so they totally understand Big Family Life. I can't write too much because I don't want to ook them out, but I have told them I am a bit overwhelming and that I love kids and am so happy they are here.

It's just so exciting when a dream comes true! It's like when I married Mr. Kerrie and we had all the little Kerries ... DREAM COME TRUE! Pinch me!

No, these are not all our kids, but this is ELEVEN kids and represents what it might look like if my family and the family next door posed for a picture in a line like this!

Date Night with Mr. Kerrie

The movie CHEF is HIGHLY recommended by Mr. Kerrie and I. The kids totally pushed us out the door so they could have time with Jordan. Jordan let us borrow her Mustang GT 5.0 STICK SHIFT car. I do miss a stick shift car, friends.

Mr. Kerrie may or may not have gone 90 mph down our street in second gear on the way home. I am not saying. We may have gone to the Plaza and Downtown. I thought it might be fun to have a fast car someday but on second thought I would like to keep my husband alive as long as possible and a fast car = trouble in our house.

Don't make fun of my pose. This is the pose I do because I learned it from my sitter so it's just funny when a 43-year-old does it and that's the point ... to be funny!

The night was a success and if we had sitter money we would probably go on a date every single week. I can see that happening in our future!!! I do love Mr. Kerrie and have a pretty good time with the dude even 19 years later. How can you not love someone who takes you how you are most of the time and doesn't gripe about it too much?!
