Online Parenting Journalists Conference March 12-13, 2021

 Do you want to:

  • Connect with editors of top parenting publications,

  • Discover a community of writers who make a good living doing what they love, and

  • Learn insider secrets to landing an agent and more?

Register today for the live, online Parenting Journalists Conference on March 12-13 and unlock a package that includes interactive workshops and networking opportunities, roundtable conversations, master classes, and access to a private Facebook group.

We’re excited to be joined by writers and editors for publications such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, The Cut, Hello Giggles, Real Simple, Romper, USA Today, the Washington Post, Parents, Slate, and more for a two-day conference that’s designed to be accessible to as many people as possible. Each workshop is by journalists, for journalists, offering clear takeaways and actionable advice. Keynote speaker Gemma Hartley will share her journey from a viral Harper’s Bazaar article to her acclaimed book Fed Up: Emotional Labor, Women and the Way Forward

Register today to access 14 workshops for one registration fee, including:

  • pitching secrets from experienced independent journalists;

  • making a living as a writer;

  • writing with an intersectional lens;

  • building your newsletter, speaking, or podcasting career; and

  • how to write a book proposal and find a killer agent.

Whether you’re an aspiring parenting writer or someone with years of experience, you’ll learn strategies for pitching, honing your craft, advancing your career, becoming more productive, and making more money. Plus, you’ll network with your peers around the globe, meet editors, and make important professional connections. Each day includes one keynote speaker and five workshops, each lasting 75 minutes. All sessions will be recorded (except for the networking times) and will be available for replay for two weeks after the event.

The conference is presented by the Parenting Journalists Society, the first national organization focused on journalism about parenting and child development. We are committed to serving all parents by offering a diverse set of perspectives. Scholarships are available to offset the cost of registration, and we aim to be an anti-racist organization, intentionally seeking speakers who represent a range of identities. Hope to see you on March 12 and 13!
