It measures the average glucose level in your body over a period of months-a much better indicator. I was diagnosed at Gestational diabetic at 18 weeks with my first pregnancy, 29 weeks with my twins, and never "officially" diagnosed with my last. All of my baby's were larger (7lbs 7oz @ 5 weeks early, 6lbs 6oz, and 6lbs 5oz for the twins @ 4 weeks early, and 9 lbs 13oz @ 39 weeks) even though I was on a STRICT diabetic diet and insulin for the later parts of my pregnancies and monitored glucose throughout the entire pregnancies for the my last two. Talk about an insurance company's nightmare, I was admitted for pre term labor 4 times with the twins and had over 15 ultrasounds!! My last pregnancy I had over 10! My doctors were very cautious but great!!

Aimee
journalofamomma.blogspot.comMOMMYhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14921456725429113843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-915703366269834950.post-38805767449203612292009-06-09T19:56:21.005-05:002009-06-09T19:56:21.005-05:00oh, did I hate the glucose test! I think it may be the worst thing you could do to a pregnant lady - other than making them have an ultrasound with a full bladder.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
