Thanks, Dad and Nancy, for the high chair we’ve had for the last 8 years. It has served us well and will continue to do so. But sometimes I’m too lazy to mess with cleaning it off from the last meal, strapping the baby into it and then cleaning it off again. So …
… recently I was feeding Eva applesauce while we were sitting on the kitchen floor (I am, by the way, the poster child for the 5-second rule, yet somehow my kids are totally healthy). She gave me a big hug in between every bite. I was really trying to live in the moment and appreciate the sweetness of it. Callie was watching High School Musical 2 downstairs and the boys were playing animals all over the house.
**super-hokey thing coming up ... you have been warned
I wish I had an ocean of applesauce and that her stomach was as big as the world so I could keep getting those precious hugs until the day I die.
5/18/12 P.S. I gave the high chair to my nephew for their new baby. It was sitting in the basement collecting dust and I knew it would serve them better since they are young and this is their first baby. I haven't entirely ruled out having another baby, but if that happens I'll just post a Facebook status looking to borrow baby gear, and hopefully I'd be all set!
